AMD has introduced an updated line of third-generation Ryzen desktop processors at Computex 2019. Performed on the 7-nm process technology, new items received high base frequencies, an unlocked multiplier, support for the latest PCI-Express standard and an attractive price tag.
All third-generation AMD Ryzen desktop CPUs are built on the Zen 2 architecture – according to the vendor, new products outperform previous solutions by 15% in any usage scenarios. The flagship of the line was the 12-core (24 threads) Ryzen 9 3900X with a base clock frequency of 3.68 GHz (4.6 GHz in turbo mode) with a total cache size of 70 MB and a declared thermal packet (TDP) of 105 W. The recommended retail price of the processor is $ 499.
Ryzen 7 3800X – an eight-core model with 16 threads and a frequency of 3.9 GHz (up to 4.5 GHz in boost mode) will cost customers $ 399. The younger Ryzen 7 3700X, according to AMD, is 18% faster than the 2700X in multi-threaded computing and 28% faster than the Intel Corei7-9700K when tested in Cinebench. The price tag of the novelty with the TDP 65 W is $ 329.
Completes the updated Ryzen 5 3600X line with 6 cores, 12 threads and a 95-watt TDP for $ 249. A more affordable Ryzen 5 3600 with a 65 W heat pack will cost $ 199. For all new Ryzen processors, support for the PCI-Express 4.0 standard has been announced, which will provide an exchange rate of about 42% higher compared to the third revision. The presented processors will be compatible both with already released motherboards based on AM4 socket, and with new solutions with the AMD X570 chipset.

In the sale of new items will go on July 7. The company also announced the release of a series of video cards Radeon RX 5700, but the specifications of new products have not yet been announced. According to AMD, the new family of desktop graphics processors will debut in July – at the moment we only know about the use of GDDR6 video memory and support for the PCIe 4.0 standard. Details about the architecture and capabilities of graphics cards will be announced later.
