The gadget park of many users does not always consist only of devices running Android or iOS. One of the main problems when using different operating systems is the incompatibility of devices at the software level. Google has simplified the sharing of competing platforms – now you can confirm that you are accessing the search giant on your iPhone or iPad using an Android smartphone.
Soon after the announcement of the technology that turns Android smartphones into physical security keys, Google expanded the scope of the original authorization method. Now users of Apple iOS can also use the option of securely logging into your Google account.
To activate an alternative authentication method, you must activate the 2SV function on a smartphone running Android 7.0 and higher in accordance with the instructions on the official website. For an iOS gadget, you must specify the smartphone as the unlock key in the Google account settings and enable Bluetooth on both devices. After you enter your Google Account password on your iPhone or iPad, your Android smartphone will act as an additional security key.
This method does not affect the credentials of your iCloud account and is designed to protect access to Google services on the iPhone and other devices running Apple iOS.
