Despite Samsung’s ambitious plans, the first manufacturer to introduce a smartphone with a hole in the display was the Honor brand. A preliminary announcement of the novelty took place during a closed event for journalists. Among the features of the device, not only an unusual display was noted, but also a camera with a Sony 48x MP main sensor IMX586 and a pixel size of 0.8 microns.
At today’s meeting in Hong Kong, only the front panel of the future Honor View 20 smartphone, the global version of which will be called the V20, was demonstrated. They promised to tell all the details at the presentation, which will take place on December 26 in Beijing – the journalists have already begun to receive invitations, which they have recommended to take with them.●
According to available information, the “heart” of the device will be the flagship processor Kirin 980 with two blocks of neural computing. Earlier, insiders reported that Honor View 20 will receive a display with a resolution of 2310×1080 pixels, support for fast charging technology and a pre-installed version of Android 9.0 Pie with a proprietary shell EMUI 9.0.●
In addition, the 48MP AI HDR mode was announced, capable of making high-quality images in low light and in other non-standard conditions. Talking about the photo capabilities of the device, the company shared a few shots taken with the camera of the device.●
In brief, an AI technology called Link Turbo was also mentioned during the event. Special algorithms will study the state of mobile and Wi-Fi networks, and then be able to alternately switch between them, choosing the optimal mode of the Internet connection.
The announcement of the global version of Honor View 20 will be held on January 22 at a special event in Paris.
