The working title of Google Pixel 4 lit up in AOSP
Over the past few weeks, Google’s developers have become sources of several leaks confirming the development of the fourth revision of Pixel’s smartphones. This time, in the comments to the Android Open Source Project code, the code names Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL and one more unknown device of the company lit up.
Four of these working names are already known – Marlin (Pixel XL), Wahoo (the combined code name for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL), Crosshatch (Pixel 3 XL) and Bonito (Pixel 3a XL). It is noteworthy that the new names Coral and Flame directly indicate Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, respectively.
Previously, under the appropriate designation, the alleged fourth “pixel” appeared in Geekbench , which confirms the presence in Google of a prototype of an unannounced smartphone. What device is hidden behind the code Needlefish, is still unknown. The date of the presentation and the price of future flagships of the search giant are not reported.
Mysterious novelty from HTC tested in the benchmark
After a long lull, HTC is supposedly preparing to release a new smartphone of the average price segment. This was hinted at by the popular Geekbench benchmark, in the database of which a record appeared about testing the brand's new product with the model number 2Q7A100.
According to published data, an uninstalled HTC device running Android 9.0 is based on a Snapdragon 710 processor and received 6 GB of RAM. Details of the stuffing device are not disclosed – presumably the vendor will present a new gadget of the U or Desire line in the coming weeks.
Earlier, the company announced that it would focus on creating devices for the mid-range and flagship price segments in 2019, but a “road map” with an indication of models being prepared for production has not yet been announced.
