The final episode of the new Star Wars trilogy, which tells about what happened in a distant galaxy after the death of Emperor Palpatine, will be released on more screens on December 19, 2019. But Disney does not intend to end the production of pictures by the film universe: if you believe the media, work is already underway on a new trilogy that will bring events back to the days of the Old Republic, and the plot of the films will somehow intertwine with the Knights of the Old Republic.
This was announced by the news portal Buzzfeed, citing internal sources. Employees of the publication claim that now Laeta Kalogridis is writing the script for the first part of the trilogy, based on the events of the game Knights of the Old Republic. Previously, the author worked on the films “Island of the Damned” and “Alita: Fighting Angel”, as well as the TV series “Modified Carbon”. In addition, Kalogridis served as executive producer of Avatar, James Cameron.
This information is consistent with a recent statement by President Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy that the studio is working on a project for the Knights of the Old Republic.
