Since the announcement of Dead Island 2 more than five years have passed, and with the development of this game, everything went awry. The Polish company Techland, which created the first part, abandoned the sequel in favor of Dying Light. Then the publisher Deep Silver handed the case over to Yager Development, but three years later he suspended it from working on the game. In 2016, it became known that the long-suffering project went to the Sumo Digital studio, and since then there has been no rumor or spirit about it. Up to this day.
The information appeared in the financial statements of THQ Nordic Corporation, which bought Deep Silver and, at the end of last year, all projects belonging to it. Among the active developments among others is Dead Island 2. No other details about this game were disclosed.
However, the report also contains other, no less interesting information: at the moment, 80 projects are being developed under the wing of THQ Nordic, 32 of which have already been announced, and 48 are still kept under the “top secret” label. Earlier from the same document, we learned that 4A Games had already begun developing a new AAA game.
