As part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Samsung demonstrated the capabilities of the world's first remote-controlled car on the fifth-generation network. The system, created in partnership with Designated Driver and Vodafone, has even been visually tested. An experienced rider-drifter Von Gittin Jr. took the test.
The driver drove the Lincoln MKZ with the Designated Driver integrated remote control system using the Samsung Gear VR virtual reality headset. It was installed smartphone Galaxy S10 5G, connected to the network of the fifth generation of the operator Vodafone. Miracle machine, called S-Drone, successfully passed the track.
“I would never have thought that I would venture to drive a car using a VR helmet, a phone and a remote control system! Designated Driver, Samsung and Vodafone have proven that this is possible, ”Von Gitty Jr. said.
Unfortunately, not all popular publications were able to admire this achievement – after a couple of “races” the demonstration was canceled due to the heat. However, even those who were not able to observe the action live, do not question the success of companies.
