ZTE Blade V10 and V10 Vita have recently added to the model range of a famous vendor. Both models are aimed at the initial-middle market segment. For a small cost, they have photo processing using AI, advanced finger scanner and NFC functions. On other differences and unique qualities of new products – under the cut.
Recognizing an inexpensive smartphone by its appearance is becoming more difficult today. A couple of fresh ZTE – a great confirmation of this. Two models flaunt the actual solutions in the design: here there are thin frames around the screen, and a miniature cut-out of drop-like shape, where the lens of the front camera hides. Above it is a grid of conversational dynamics, under which the LED indicator of notifications is also hidden.
The plastic case in both cases appears to be glass at a distance and shimmers in the light with mirror surfaces. Glossy material quickly covered with prints, so it is better to take care of the cover immediately. The Blade V10, by the way, comes with it.
With a careful study of the devices, you can find a few differences. Behind this is a block camera design. If you pay attention to the lower end, it becomes clear that the ZTE Blade V10 has received a modern Type-C connector. The younger version is content with the proven micro USB time. The power button also varies: in Blade V10 Vita, it has a ribbed surface, and in Blade V10 it is smooth.
The screens are the same story. At first glance, the difference is not easy to notice. In both IPS-matrices, and the dimensions almost coincide – 6.26 inches for the “whit” and 6.3 "for the ZTE Blade V10. At the same time, the older gadget has a resolution of Full HD + (2280×1080). HD +, which has a density of approximately 269 dpi. The image quality of the two displays did not disappoint, but the difference between them is noticeable. The lower resolution of the V10 Vita in some cases attracts attention, and the white balance is slightly shifted towards warm tones. good news – each smartphone has a manual adjustment of the colors cottages.
System – nothing more. Nearly
Another common feature of the ZTE duet: a close to pure version of Android 9 Pie. The vendor did not install its own shell, leaving intact most of the interface and other components. The advantages of this solution are obvious: extra elements, such as a custom shell or additional programs, do not inhibit the system and do not occupy space in the memory.
But it was not without any improvements. ZTE has added menu sections with features that extend the basic settings of Google's operating system. There are pre-installed applications, for example, the Sberbank utility and several Yandex services. Almost all of them are easily removed or disabled in the options.
The firmware of two very similar phones have some differences. Whether it is differently designed menu sections or functions that are in one model and are missing in the second. So, in the older version provides gesture control.
ZTE Blade V10
Yet the main differences lie in the gland. ZTE Blade V10 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio P70 chip. It is noteworthy that in this single-chip system there is a dedicated block of AI-related calculations. Therefore, it is used to recognize scenes when taking a picture. 4 GB of RAM and a built-in 64 GB drive complete the picture.
In everyday use, the smartphone manifests itself perfectly. Applications run without too much thought, and the interface is devoid of jams. However, one does not expect anything else from a relatively powerful filling in combination with a pure Android OS. In games V10 also manifests itself well. In most modern hits it allows you to hack with a comfortable frame rate. This also applies to Asphalt 9, and World of Tanks. The latter does not turn into a slide show, producing even at high settings graphics from 35 to 50 fps.
The device operates on a 3200 mAh battery. Although the volume of the battery is modest by modern standards, the Blade V10 battery lasts a full day or even a half, if you do not lean on gaming. When playing Full HD video in airplane mode at 50% brightness, the phone lasted about 13 hours.
To unlock access to the system, a standard set is provided: a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel and face authorization. Both methods are convenient. The fingerprint sensor acts instantly and accurately: the finger is recognized in any position, up to 360 degrees. As a bonus, it is convenient to use it as a mini touchpad – to pull out the curtain of notifications (swipe from top to bottom) or the menu of running applications (bottom to top). In addition, it is easy to assign the launch of certain applications to each of the fingers or block access to files and programs. It takes a little less than a second to recognize the face of the time.
Blade V10 photo capabilities are at a decent level. The main unit has two cameras: a 16-megapixel main (f / 1.8) and auxiliary at 5 megapixels, which improves the quality of images with blurring the background. The interface is typical for Android smartphones. The main switches and icons are placed directly on the viewfinder screen, the transition between shooting modes is carried out by scrolling the carousel.
A good luminosity allows the device to adequately manifest itself not only in good daylight, but also in the evening or in artificial light. You should not expect a flagship quality, however, given the cost of the new product, this is not required of it.
Frontal ZTE Blade V10 received a matrix with a resolution of 32 megapixels and a lens with an aperture of f / 2.0. In the work of the self-module, AI algorithms are actively used. This, in addition to the usual beautifiers, allows you to make portraits with the bokeh effect. Although there is no auxiliary sensor for determining the distance to objects, images with background blur are obtained at a very high level – practically without errors.
Video smartphone records in Full HD format. The positive points we assign a good detail. There are drawbacks: when driving, there is a noticeable lack of stabilization, and the focus can be a little walk while shooting.

ZTE Blade V10 Vita
Hardware stuffing ZTE Blade V10 Vita easier. The heart of the system was the chip Unisoc SC9863A. It is included in the latest line of the Chinese manufacturer and contains eight ARM Cortex-A55 computing cores, operating at a clock frequency of up to 1.6 GHz. One of the main differences of the new generation architecture from Cortex is the appearance in the cores of embedded computing acceleration units based on AI and machine learning. The graphics chip PowerVR Rogue GE8322 is responsible for processing graphics. The memory configuration depends on the modification – it can be a formula of 2 + 32 GB or 3 + 64 GB. The review involved the younger model.
Despite the modern architecture of processor cores, in Blade V10 Vita, the animations in the interface and the launching of applications are sometimes a little longer than they should. You should not expect advanced gaming features from the budget chipset. But still, the apparatus dealt with World of Tanks confidently. At medium settings with HD textures, the frame counter ranged from 40-50 fps. In synthetic tests, the processor scores an adequate number of points for its price category.
Blade V10 Vita battery capacity is similar to the expensive version: 3200 mAh. With the video playback, the mobile handset did a bit better than the Blade V10, in similar conditions the charge lasted for 14 hours and 40 minutes. In everyday use, “Vita” also lasts a little longer – due to an economical processor and a lower screen resolution. To unlock the ZTE Blade V10 Vita, you can use either the facial recognition system or the multifunctional fingerprint scanner.
The photo of the ZTE Blade V10 Vita is represented by a dual main module. It includes 13 megapixel (f / 2.0) and 2 megapixel cameras, as well as a single front camera with a resolution of 8 megapixel with an aperture of f / 2.0.
The quality of the pictures is at the level of gadgets in this price category. In bright daylight, nice shots come out with good colors and a level of detail, but with a deterioration in illumination, the result is rapidly decreasing.
The front camera copes with its tasks, and the range of its options is expanded thanks to the system of beautification. The latter is notable for the detailed setting: for example, you can not edit the entire face, but adjust only the size and shape of the eyes or work on the skin. Connoisseurs of high-quality selfies should appreciate this variability in dignity.

Although outwardly, two smartphones from the ZTE Blade V10 family are similar, their hardware is significantly different. Therefore, it is easy to choose a gadget to fit your needs, not overpaying for unused functions. It's nice that ZTE has included the NFC-module for contactless payments and fast pairing devices among the basic features. However, it should be borne in mind that the V10 Vita received it only in a modification with 3 + 64 GB of memory.
Senior Blade V10 is suitable for those who are willing to pay extra for a set of trifles, which together make it a more advanced machine. This includes the modern USB Type-C connector, support for high-speed dual-band Wi-Fi, a more powerful chipset, and a Full HD + display. In turn, ZTE Blade V10 Vita is a good choice for users who find such “bonuses” unnecessary.
